"A Major Strategic Advantage" says Chairman

Welsh insurance to financial services group Thomas, Carroll Group plc, is celebrating the achievement of its insurance broking arm gaining Corporate Chartered status from the insurance industry's governing body.

In becoming a Corporate Chartered Insurance Broker, Thomas, Carroll is the only broker in South East Wales and one of only three in Wales to have gained the professional standard for its business. Granted by the Privy Council and governed by The Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) under 100 brokers in the whole of the UK have gained Corporate Chartered status, indicating that this is a highly exclusive award reserved for the leading firms of the broking industry.

The news represents a double success for the Caerphilly-headquartered Group following its financial services arm Thomas, Carroll Independent Financial Advisers, already achieiving Chartered status and recently being named the UKs top Chartered Financial Planning Company in the UK by the Personal Finance Society.

According to the CII Chartered status involves a commitment to continuing professional development and adherence to an industry standard code of ethics and conduct. It is underpinned with monitoring and disciplinary procedures.
