Double win for Thomas, Carroll and Chairman John Moore

Thomas, Carroll Group Chairman has been honored by his industry, for his contribution to the profession over the past 40 years.

John Moore has been recognised at the annual Insurance Age UK Broker Awards 2010, where he received a special Lifetime Achievement award. The honour was granted for the Chairman's outstanding contribution to the success, image and operation of the UK general insurance broking industry.

His accolade represented a double-victory for the Thomas, Carroll Group, which also won the overall 'UK Intermediary of the Year' award at the event.

John Moore joined Thomas, Carroll as Managing Director in 1981 when the company employed eight people, and has helped expand it into a large risk management group, employing 96 people. He succeeded co-founder Evan Thomas as Group Chairman in 2006.

In recent years, he has steered the Group through accelerated growth including the creation of new health & safety and property insurance divisions. In 2009 the Group expanded with new regional serving Mid and West Wales in addition to its Caerphilly headquarters.

This is evidenced by our featuring in the Sunday Times UK Best Companies to Work For, for six consecutive years. John is a tremendous asset to the Group and the Welsh financial sector as a whole."

The prestigious Intermediary of the Year award is the most sought after in the industry as it bring brokers all sizes and from across the UK into competition. This title Thomas, Carroll has held on a number of occasions in the past. The judges picked out in particular its commitment to independent advice, its investment in education and training and the resultant strong financial performance.
